Nur so lassen sich wirkungsvolle Gegenstrategien entwickeln. Die Vortragsreihe im Rahmen des „Novembers der Wissenschaft“ stellt Definitionen und Analysen bereit und eröffnet Perspektiven. Der zweite Vortrag findet in englischer Sprache statt. In the face of historic and perpetual marginalization against black and brown bodies in the U.S., continued state-sanctioned violence has renewed a new moment in the long struggle for racial justice in America. With deep roots in the useable past of black social protest, #BlackLivesMatter has sparked a robust global movement for equity and recognition of the full humanity of racial ‘others’ across intersecting lines of social differences. Beyond 50+ years of Civil Rights and Black Power in the U.S., where has Black Lives Matter been and where is it going next? What characterizes its visual/material cultures and philosophies?
